Abigale Lee Miller bio

Abigale Lee Miller (born on September 21, 1965) is an American choreographer teacher, dance instructor, and reality TV host. Miller is the founder of the Abby Lee Dance Company, that was a part of the reality television series Dance Moms for eight seasons. On June 27, 2016, Miller pleaded guilty to the charge of felony bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced on the 27th of June the 27th of June, 2016 to a year, and one day in federal prison. Miller was released on March 27 of 2018. In April 2018, she developed lymphoma, which is a type of cancer, and rendered her ineligible to walk. To get around she uses wheelchair. Miller grew up in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Her mother taught her to dance at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was 14 years old when she was given choreography and the role of coach on one of her mother's competitive dance teams. Miller was given the reins of the studio and changed its name to Reign Dance Productions in 1995. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America, and was a part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 (February 1986). However, DMA terminated her membership in February 2012, citing that Miller's reality TV show Dance Moms was a "complete mistaken portrayal of the teachers we have and students" and was detrimental to the profession.
